The Flatiron Room

If you weren't aware that it's possible for a bar to have over four hundred different whiskeys, this upscale Flatiron spot might not be for you. Lavo — Restaurant

Midtown

Like, seriously, OMG! A restaurant AND a nightclub?! That is what you find at Lavo - nightclub downstairs, Italian restaurant upstairs. Both are a blurry facsimile of the Meatpacking district where the well monied young and beautiful who couldn't be bothered with downtown, because downtown couldn't be bothered with them, hang out with their peers, expense accounts and trust funds.. The food: solid Italian fare by way of a steakhouse. Booze - great selections, but prepare to open your wallet. The nightclub: More of the same. Lithe women and men slowly losing their suit jackets, euro-trash meets Wall Street, in cacophonous miasma of sweaty moving bodies, swaying to techno beats. Weekend party brunches are a thing, either to start the party or keep it going.

Nicola's

Upper East Side

Relaxed Italian eatery on the Upper East Side.

Through it all in a bowel, or on a bun, with a choice of sauce and a seasonal slaw and you are good to go. Meat is sourced in the manner of Chipotle, that being, from sustainable farms.

Ruby Tuesday

Casual chain restaurant featuring classic American fare. Boasts a healthy salad bar.

Joy Luck Palace

You will experience joy and certainly feel lucky at this palatial spot that serves up some of the best dim sum in the city. Like most cavernous dim sum spots, the decor leans towards a airport lounge than intimate setting. But the draw here is not intimacy it is the wide range of small plates, some traditional, some unique to the Joy Luck Palace.

With his classical training and broad experience, Greco now focuses his special creative cuisine sensibilities on his own restaurant, Philip Marie. Greco’s cuisine is the fusion of familiar American tastes combined with the melting-pot influences associated with fine American cuisine. The menu takes diners home again offering such selections as parsley salad with country ham, fried green tomatoes, 21 vegetable soup, Jack Daniel's braised lamb shank with dirty rice, pine nuts, and currants, overstuffed chicken pot pie, and apple pie with cheddar cheese crust. "I recognize that people today expect something new, especially in American cuisine," says Greco, "so we are bringing a unique twist to the traditional American menu."
