The Waterfront Museum is dedicated to celebrating the New York City waterfront and invites the public, schools and private groups to utilize their restored barge in Brooklyn. In 1998, the Barge was designated by the United Nations as the "Regional Craft of the Year of the Oceans" for The Waterfront Museum's work in opening up waterfronts for the use and enjoyment of the general public.

Directions Follow subway directions below, then take the B-61 Bus from the corner of Jay and Willoughby or the corner of Court and Atlantic Street towards Red Hook to the last Van Brunt Street stop. (Corner of Van Brunt and Beard Streets.) Walk in the opposite direction the bus is heading after it stops, crossover Van Brunt and proceed one block to the end of Beard St. Turn left on Conover Street and go two blocks to the water's edge. Go to entrance gate on right and walk through open lot to Pier 44 and the Red Lehigh Valley RR Barge # 79.
